  • 1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed

Method

  1. Rinse the rice in a fine mesh strainer and set it aside.

  7. Add 1 1/2 cups of water to the pot and bring it to a boil.
  8. Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid.
  9. Simmer for 15-18 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
  10. Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes with the lid on.
  11. Fluff the rice with a fork and add chopped cilantro. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  12. Serve hot and enjoy!
