Method

- Once the cumin seeds start to splutter, add finely chopped onions and green chilies and sauté until the onions turn translucent.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.

- Add garam masala powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt to taste and sauté for a minute.
- Add the washed rice and stir well.
- Add 4 cups of water and mix well.
- Cook the rice until it is done either in a pressure cooker or on a stove.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and serve hot with raita or any side dish of your choice.
