  5. In a pan, heat the oil and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, coriander seeds, and black pepper. Saute for a minute.
  6. Add chopped garlic, onion, and curry leaves. Saute until the onion turns translucent.
  7. Now add chopped tomatoes and saute until they turn mushy.
  8. Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
  9. Add the tamarind juice and let it boil for 5-7 minutes.
  10. Turn off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
  11. To serve, take a portion of rice in a plate and pour the rasam on top of it.
