Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger paste
  • 500 grams of boneless chicken (cut into cubes)
  • 500 grams of boneless beef (cut into cubes)
  • 8-10 skewers

Method

  1. Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Drain the rice and add it to a pot with 4 cups of water. Add salt and bring to a boil.
  3. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Allow the rice to cook for 15-20 minutes or until it is fully cooked.
  4. In a frying pan, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and add the chopped onions, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and carrots. Stir fry for 5-7 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Add the cooked rice to the frying pan with the vegetables and mix well. Add sesame oil and mix again.
  6. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic paste, and ginger paste. Add the chicken and beef cubes to the bowl and mix well. Allow the meat to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Thread the marinated meat onto skewers and grill for 10-12 minutes or until the meat is fully cooked.
  8. Place the Chinese rice on a serving dish and arrange the shashlik on top of the rice.
  9. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot.
